WHEN THE CHRISTIAN RACE GETS TOUGHER Sometimes the Christian race gets so tough that we could barely feel the power of God and hardly see the possibility of God’s promises. When flesh becomes so tough to subdue, when Satan becomes more roaring to resist, when walking with God becomes so tedious and tiring, when working for God becomes so difficult and waiting on the Lord becomes so annoying like wasting time and when heaven becomes so far away, do you know what we are to do? It is not to pull over or pull back or look back, we are to do what Jesus Christ did. SELF-CONTROL A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls. —Proverbs 25:28 People with self-control master their appetite. They do not let their cravings master them. Unless you master your appetite for sex, food and other pleasures you will get nowhere in life. People with self-control watch their words. They put their minds in gear before opening their mouths: "Be careful what you say and protect your life. A careless talker destroys himself." (Proverbs 13:3) People with self-control restrain their reactions. How much can you take before you lose your temper? If you are sensible, you will control your temper.
