Baptism
Reading from John 3:1-15, Jesus was explaining to Nicodemus how to be born-again and the need to be born again. Jesus said to Nicodemus in *verse* *3* that, except a man be born-again ,he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus never understood what it means to be born-again in *verse 4*
Jesus Christ ,out of love, explained to Nicodemus what it means to be born-again in *verse 5*.
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is *born of water and the Spirit*
When you compare, analyze and equate verse 3 and verse 5, it can be deduced that .....
*To be " born-again" means to be born of water and the Spirit*.
*Que:* What does the *water* in John 3:5 represent or mean?
Let read from *Ephesians 5: 26 :*
"That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the *washing of water by the WORD.*
*John 15:3* " Now ye are *clean through the WORD* which I have spoken unto you.
From the above Scriptures , we can conclude that the *water in John 3:5 actually refers to the WORD OF GOD*
Therefore, we can say that *being born of water in John 3:5 means being born by the word of God*
The Lord confirms this through Apostle Peter in *1 Peter 1:23*
*Being born again,* not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, *by the WORD OF GOD,* which liveth and abideth for ever.
*I CAN CONFIDENTLY CONCLUDE, BY THE GRACE OF GOD,* *THAT THE WATER IN JOHN 3:5 DOESN'T REFER TO* *THE WATER BAPTISM.*
BUT THAT DOESN'T ALSO MEAN THAT WATER BAPTISM IS NOT IMPORTANT. WATER BAPTISM IS A REQUIREMENT AND A NECESSITY FOR EVERY BORN-AGAIN BELIEVER.
God bless you for reading🙏🙏🙏
